I have been trying to do some more school work with Matthew but have been feeling pretty yucky lately. So now that I am feeling better I decided to get busy. Since he already knows all his colors, numbers, counting (for the most part) and ABC's and most of their sounds, I have decided to work on writing. He can do it and really well, but like in everything else, he tests my patience and has really solidified that thought that I don't want to do homeschooling long term. He has gotten a little better, but still wants to ignore me and just act silly to get attention. It's not that he doesn't have the attention span or can't sit still long enough, he can and does, but only when he wants to. Once we get passed the beginning struggle of starting, he loves doing it and asks everyday, "are we going to do school?" He will actually sit and do 2 pages with 9 rows of letters. We are struggling with how he holds his pencil, but we are working on it and he is getting better. Right now we are working on the letter A, both upper and lower case, the sounds, and word(pictures) that start with A, he does well at recognizing what starts with a letter and loves looking at words and spelling them out. He is also in a rush, we have only been doing this for a week and he is ready to move on to B. LOL. I hope he keeps his enthusiasm for school work. I loved school and learning and hope that he will too!
This day we worked on an Autumn bear.
Coloring the bear.
I cut out the pieces, I am not ready for him to start using scissors.
He helped glue him together!
Here is his Autumn Bear
