Potty Training update

Well we are still working on it and doing pretty well. He still has peepee accidents every now and then, usually not more than 2 a day. I was getting frustrated because he refused to do his #2 business in the potty and would continually do it in his underwear, so I put him pull-ups. One day I was fed up and told him he had to sit on the potty until some came out, he was on there for more than and hour and hence the pic below, he just fell asleep,LOL, it was just so funny and cute.

Since then he has done his business in the potty but still says every time we tell him to go potty, " I don't want to go poopy" I don't understand why he is against it, but I just have to watch him closely I guess. I hope that he will be completely trained and independent with the whole thing once the baby comes, but that will be January, that is a long time to be continuously telling him to go potty every 45 min. On that note, with the exception of when we are in the car, he can only still hold it about 45 min. He must have a really small bladder or is in too big of a hurry to get done and go back to what he was doing to get it all out. He literally sits down and 2 seconds later says he is done, and he does go. We have to fight with him to get him to sit on it for more than 30 seconds. But I guess this is better than diapers and he won't be in the pull-ups forever. People tell me it takes a long time sometimes, then what is with all the books and techniques that claim to "potty train your child in one day"? He still doesn't tell us when he needs to go, with the exception of a few times. When he says he wants to go and he does, I praise him a lot and encourage him to tell me more often, then he of course follows that with an accident. ???? Anyways so that what's going on with Matthew these days.
