First we headed up to Dallas to spend a few days with Gaelan's grandparents on his Mom's side. On the way there, we stopped and saw our Friends the McLerran's. If you remember, they used to live in San Antonio and I used to take care of their little girl Jessica. Matthew and Jess just picked up where they left off. Playing, running, singing, fighting, hugging and kissing. Of course with me and blood deprived pregnancy brain, I barely remembered to take pics; which you will see to be the theme of the week.

Matthew and Jess kissing!
We had a great, albeit short visit with them. We miss them very much. By the way Nessa is pregnant too, just a few weeks behind me, they are having another girl!
Then we headed up to Gaelan's grandparents. We had a great time just getting to relax and spend time with them. The trip wore me out more than expected so I spent most of Monday in bed, but Matthew made sure that he educated Grandaddy on Little Einstines, apparently Disney was having a marathon. Matthew, Grandaddy, Annemaw, and Gaelan spent most of the day just hanging out and having fun.
On Tuesday Grandaddy and Annemaw had to help out at their church with a funeral so while we waited for them to come home, and I was feeling better, we went to the park. It was quite chilly, and us South Texans weren't used to it, but Matthew didn't care, he played and played and refused to wear a coat, little stinker.
Sliding.
Doing a lot of climbing!
helping Grandaddy do his Sudoku puzzles. Grandaddy was very patient with him, he would figure out the answer and then let Matthew write in the numbers! Yes, he can write most of his numbers now, growing up too fast!
On Wednesday evening we left Dallas and headed to my Mom's house. On the way we stopped and saw some friends that we haven't seen in a couple of years and met their new daughter that they adopted from India. She is the cutest little thing. She has Down Syndrome but has made great strides since she has come to her home with them Despite her condition she is blowing past expectations and he even took to me a little bit which surprised her parents a little bit. I of course forgot to take any pics, however their blog is private right now due to some issues so I couldn't put up pics anyways, so just take my word for it that they are the cutest family. She stays at home, he works for Dallas PD and they have 2 boys; one that they adopted from Guatemala and he is 4 and the oldest they adopted from Liberia and he is 5.
My nephew turned 2 in early November so I combined his birthday and Christmas gifts. He is very much into Elmo if you couldn't tell by his house shoes.

A couple of DVDs
And some Elmo books, with Matthew helping open the gifts.
We had a great Thanksgiving day, and I of course took no pics!! We ate lots of food and watched A LOT of football.
Uncles and cousin playing basketball. They played 5 1/2 games and of course those above a certain age paid the price for the game a day later, including Gaelan.

On Friday we headed back up to Dallas to have Thanksgiving with Gaelan's grandparents and cousins.

Telling Grandaddy bye.
Friday night we headed back down to my Mom's house. On Saturday I had my 10 year HS reunion. That afternoon we had a meet and greet for those with kids at the park. So of course Matthew was just excited about going to the park and playing with new friends. He always finds a new friend at the park.

Feeding the ducks!
Matthew and Micheal Danger hugging! Matthew did ok with him, of course there was some fighting over some toys, but for the most part they got along and had fun playing with each other, Matthew got to practice being a good big brother.
So I had to resort to tickling him to get him to look and smile at the general direction of the camera!

We had a great relaxing week. It was nice to have Gaelan all to ourselves without being interrupted by his job, which normally happens. It was so great, his phone barely rang. It was great to spend so much time with him, especially for Matthew. Gaelan has been working so much lately, including Saturdays, so Matthew soaked all the Daddy time he could get! It was also great to see family and friends that we don't get to see very often, again especially for Gaelan, who doesn't get to come up as often as I do. We are sad that we aren't able to travel for Christmas this year, but this trip was rougher on me than expected and the Docs don't want me traveling that close to the end and Gaelan will be on call so we don't want to leave him alone for Christmas. So we will have our first just us family Christmas(of course that includes Gaelan's parents) and we are looking forward to it!! Not having to stress and rush around for a holiday will be a nice change, but we will miss all the family!
