I had a check up today and everything looks good! Despite my illness this past week, I have gained 4 pounds this month and they were very happy! The doc has decided to do another sono next month to check baby's growth, since Matthew had issues, they want to make sure that this one doesn't, so we should know for sure boy or girl next month!! We also discussed all the braxton hicks contractions that I have been having quite frequently. She said that it's a little early for me to be having them and if they continue to be so frequent or get more frequent, they might have to put me on bed rest for the duration of the pregnancy. Pray that doesn't happen, one it's not as fun as it sounds and two these contractions aren't all the fun to put up with. We also talked more about my amnio that they will do at 35 weeks. I have had a lot of people ask me why they are doing that. They want to make sure that the baby and it's lungs are mature enough for birth so that they can take it out before I go into labor. I wished they would have done that with Matthew. It was just the grace of God that he was strong and mature enough to not be put in a NICU and put on machines and even after he was born the doctors kept telling me that they would, but Matthew was a fighter! So this time around we will know for sure that the baby is ready or at least as ready as it can be since they can't let me go too far along. But we got some surprising news in that respect today. I asked some questions of whether I should go back to Pearsall from SA after the procedure (a 60 mile trip) because it does carry some risks or if I should stay the night in the hospital or get a hotel room. She said that they will keep me for an hour or so to make sure that I don't have any issues. The surprising part? They will have the results the same day and if the baby is mature enough, they will schedule the C-section the next day!! I was not expecting that, I thought that they would wait at least a week. So even though it's a planned C-section, we still won't have much warning as to when this baby is coming!
On some other news, I of course have to talk about Matthew! He does or says too many funny things for me not to mention them!
Now I am no expert, but I think that is pretty good for a 3 year old, especially since we hadn't shown him how to do it before hand!
The other thing I wanted to share. While we were waiting at my doc's appt today, Matthew was playing and acting silly and I told him that he was goofy. Now he is so literal! He looked up at me and said "No Mommy, I'm not Goofy, I'm not one of Mickey's friends, I don't have an orange shirt, or a green hat, or goofy's shoes." all very seriously! it was just so funny!! Pic of Goofy below!
