Adventure to Oklahoma!

After the family reunion, Gaelan's parents were planning on coming back to San Antonio the last week of July for Papa's birthday. They always had asked for Matthew to come up and stay with them, but I didn't think that I or Matthew could handle it. I said something to Mimmi about too bad it was going to be so long(nearly a month) before they would be coming back to SA, if it had been sooner, I would let them take Matthew with them to OK. She said what would be wrong for the whole month? After thinking and talking it over with Gaelan we decided to let Matthew go. After I agreed to it, I was already scared and wishing I had said nothing, but it was too late. Matthew had a great time, no missing Mommy or Daddy. He would hardly talk to me on the phone when I would call(which was several times a day). He had a great time getting to know our old dog Bear-Bear( he called him big big bear), swimming in his little pool, and being Papa's shadow. We did miss one big milestone. his first fireworks for 4th of July; but we got over it. I missed him of course, but enjoyed my Me time! I slept in everyday and even stayed up way too late a few nights hanging out with some friends. I couldn't blog because I gave the camera to them to take pics. I might wait until he is a little older before I let him be gone for that long again, but we survived and Matthew even thrived! He learned the rest of his colors (he now knows them all), he recognizes numbers 1-5 and learned to eat anything with a spoon. (something I was waiting on, not because I like to feed him, but because I didn't want to deal with the mess.) Thanks Papa and Mimmi for all the Fun! He even discovered his love for watermelon. Funny story. Mimmi got up one morning to go to work (6:30am)and heard Matthew crying, he wasn't in his bed so she followed the crying to the living room, where he looked up at her and said "Mimmi, watermelon!" How cute!!!!!

Our son is only particular about one thing that he wears and that is his hat, he will only wear a John Deere Hat, so of course they got him a new one!

Their little town they live has a park with one of those splash places and Matthew loved it. I wish we had on here!!
